Nice pic. c: But this is not a true APBT, this dog looks more like an American Bully. And ouch, what's up with the ear crops on these poor dogs.

Haters gonna hate, and then probably die 20 years early for focusing on the negatives in life.....The fact of the matter is that this dog is alive and deserves all the attention and love as any "proper" looking pitbull. Why get so worked up? You think you're going to change the fact that American Bullys are on the planet and will continue to be bred on the planet? Pretty sure the people that are working towards it being a recognized as a breed of it's own are more of an authority than the majority of people spewing crap about how this dog is 'wrong'....Get over it..

What's with everyone getting on the case of what kind of dog it is? Saying a person should be ashamed because of the look of the dog in the picture? Give me a break, I know there are alot of people against American Bullys, especially Pitbull purists. This dog is an American Bully, it's an offshoot of the APBT. Kind of like every breed known to man today is an offshoot of the wolf, because that's where they all originated from. To each his own, some people like Poodles, others like Pitbulls etc. I have a champion bred and proven Amstaff and I have a 2 year old American Bully. I love them both, and they're both unique. Someone probably made as much noise about Pitbulls when they started to cross breed the Old English Terrier to develop them. So get over it, someone has a dog that would be commonly mistaken as a pitbull but it's bigger and more bulky. You can't tell me that miniature poodles were bred for anything more than show, nobody seems to be on their case..... Next dog I get will be definitely be a Presa Canario, just because they're bigger and more built than my current dogs and I'm a big Molosser dog type fan. Great pic by the way, excellent looking Bully, haters gonna hate and probably die 20 years earlier in their life because they choose to be so negative...

No  one is getting upset that there are bullies,  it's that this person is posting this pic calling his AMERICAN BULLY a dang APBT. And besides TRUE Ambully bloodlines, the original Razors Edge dogs look nothing like this. This dog might look good to someone who knows nothing of true APBT  and  Ambullies. This dog is probably from a messed up line with mastiffs, american bull dogs, and every other fat and non working breed there is.
A real American bully that comes off of true APBT working and Am Staff lines, as in old RE  bloodline is my boy Gator. You can see his pics on my page. He is solid, lean muscle. This is him at a little over a year mhmmlissy.deviantart.com/art/M…

Note he was not worked with weights or conditioning at the time, but now he is about 80lbs and lean. Too big to be an APBT  but perfect for an Ambully. This dog pictured on this post is a disgrace to Ambullies, and calling him a pit is a shame. This man clearly shouldn't own dogs

He looks a little too wide and muscular to be a pit. Also, did you crop his ears or by him like that?

This isn't what a pit is supposed to look like. It's muzzle is too short, it's neck is too thick, chest is too wide and it's legs are WAY too short. And Lemme guess, you got the dog from a breeder for like $400... That's stupid wen you could've adopted a pit from the shelter for $40, and shelter pits look a whole lot better than that pit.

this isn't a true pitbull

they are NOT sappossed to be short, fat, bowlegged

people need to stop breeding them this way. It's stupid because on breeders websites you see them say "massive heads" "bggest pitbulls" and what you see is a dog that no longer represents the breed it once was

they are sappsed to be taller, muscular, and atheltic

I bet these new aged pits they breed can't even run

My pitbull is short and muscular with a big head, but he's not nearly as big as this one. And pitbulls aren't tall, most are actually pretty small athletic dogs, people over estimate the size of a pitbull. Don't hate on the dog either, you are blaming the dog for how it was born. I'm glad this guy bought this dog instead of some dog fighter.

beautiful. i love all pits and bully breeds. despite if theyre the right size or not. i respect all animals as long as they dont have a bad temper. i had a yellow lab, she was food agressive, dog/people agressive and was hopeless to train. ive had pits in the past and 2 now. not once have i ever had a problem with their temperment.

Size can be deceiving.. I own a pit and i've seen her PLAYFULLY mop the floor with a male bully by dragging to around by the back of its neck.

This dog is way to disproportionate to the balance that has manifested itself into the breed by hundreds of years of careful breeding. Had this PROVEN to be the best stature for fighting this is what you would see being pulled out of the pits that get busted. It's not however and I think that speaks volumes.

That's actually an American Bully, a designer breed that crosses American Staffordshire Terriers, American Pitbull Terriers, and sometimes bulldog or mastiff breeds for a thicker, wider, and more "bully" appearance.

I agree with many of the comments, however if you have a pit that has a narrow chest, a dog such as this would be perfect to mate it with to fix the imperfections in the next generation ... true this site would not meet any kind of confirmation as a show dog, but at the same time, dogs as this do have a use. My two cents :)

I have my own pitty and an amstaff this is rediculous that you have made your dog to be like this. I'm suspicious that his muscle growth is even natural.
My dogs are lean, yet muscular. not overly buff like this. this just looks like it's infested with steroids. i agree with all the EDUCATED people on here, pits are working dogs. this is juts unatural and unfair on the poor dog. you should be ashamed.

You know nothing about APBTs, and don't act like you do. They are GAME dogs. WORKING dogs. They're supposed to be LEAN and athletic. The APBTs of our past, the REAL APBTs weighted 30-40 pounds, on AVERAGE. They are NOT supposed to be big dogs. Bullies aren't worthy of the APBT name.

Disgusting.

Pit Bulls are working and dogs like these are completely out of standard and incapable of work.

His:

Chest is too wide
Head is too massive / Cheeks too pronounced
Jowls are too loose and hang down too far
Legs are too short and bowed
Muzzle is too short (leaning toward bracycephalic)
Overall size is excessive

I love the look, the bulky build and sharp ears. That's a gorgeous display of real power, although to me, it personally looks more like a staffordshire terrier. I'm probably wrong, it might just be the past generations that make the anatomy a little off. It seems a little short, and the muzzle a tad boxy.

I hate it when people breed them to be big and bulky, they look awful and they give a bad name to pitbulls, they look aggressive and mean, that's not the sort of dog you'd run up to and stroke in the street.

too each his own, people shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Every dog should be approached the same way, regardless of the size or 'look' of it. Those factors have absolutely nothing to do with their temperament...

Nope.

The American Pitbull terrier is naturally a lean, lithe dog in the weight range of 30-55 pounds. These gargantuan hippo-pits were created by breeding to other bully breeds.

This picture does not depict the true APBT.

just like the APBT was created when they started crossbreeding the 'Old English Terrier' with mastiffs and alot of other breeds, way back in the day. I bet you don't spend as much time hating on dogs like miniature poodles and other small designer dogs that may as well be called cats...get over it.
